さて、盛悟のブリュッセル報告です! コンテンポラリーダンスのシディラルビシャルカウイさんとのリハは続いています。この作品のテーマは「バベル」。旧約聖書の創世記に登場する「バベルの塔」のバベルです。約12ヶ国から集まったダンサーと創るこの作品はさながらバベルの塔を築くが如くです。建造物ということから、建築の言語でもある「数字」を共通語に据え舞台を構築していきます。

曲は「数」「数学」に因んでいるのでとにかく覚えるのが困難…。今日からインドのタブラ奏者、歌手、イタリアの歌手、ハープ奏者、パーカショニストが来て、音楽隊も勢揃い。これで14ヶ国の集合です。わくわくしながらやっております!

さて、ベルギーに来たつばささん、アントワープからブリュッセルに来てくれましたよ〜! 元気そうでなによりですね! ほ〜ら、皆さん! 幸せお裾分けしてもらいましょ〜!
さてこちらも雪が降ったりもしました! さっむい。。。ホットチョコレート飲んで頑張ります!!

先日1月30日。
岩手県北上市の北上シティープラザホテルにて、37年の交流をさせていただいている岩崎鬼剣舞の皆様に、八重樫俊一師匠と共に還暦を祝っていただきました。

鬼剣舞の演目「一人加護」で祝っていただいた後は、楽しい余興タイムが続き、岩崎パワーが大炸裂。もちろん、私も少し控えめではありますが、じっとしている訳ではございません。楽しい!楽しい!
岩崎の皆さん手作りの宴。私は、ただただ「かんしゃ! かんれき! 」2次会は剣舞会館に戻って、もうひと盛り上がり! 岩崎の夜は、いつも長ーいのであります。気持ち新たに! 無事佐渡に帰ってきました。

Here is a story from January 30th.

My upcoming 60th birthday was celebrated by "Iwasaki Oni Kenbai," demon dance team in Iwasaki, with my master, Shun'ichi Yaegashi . I have had a great relationship with them for 37 years.

"Hitori Kago," a solo demon dance piece was performed to celebrate us as an opening. Then, it was a party time and Iwasaki power exploded! Of course, I was being good and well-behaved, but no way I could just be good the whole time! Fun! and then some!
This party was hand-prepared by the people of Iwasaki. I was so appreciative. There was also another party after that and we were even more hyped! A night of partying in Iwasaki is always so long. I feel refreshed and now, I am safely back to Sado.

This morning we woke up to a lot of snow in Ogi. Here is a picture I took of Shiroyama on my way to work. The boats in the foreground are full of snow. For those of you who only have seen Ogi at Earth Celebration time, this view must look unfamiliar. But we just announced our 2010 EC guest and preparations for the summer festival have started already. We hope you'll join us when Sado heats up this summer!

「え！」神棚の上に、我が家の愛猫きらちゃん。

神棚の上に「迎福」なのか招き猫。おまけにおでこには小判印があって、我が家に来た時から「小判があるから福来る？」などど、勝手に「開運招福」「笑門来福」

もしかして、これをみたあなたにも福が来る？？？

On Sunday night last week...

Wow, our darling kitty "Kirara" was on a family altar!

She is like a "Maneki Neko," a welcoming cat. She also has a mark of a coin on her forehead and we have been saying that she brings luck to us. So, we figured out that finding her in this position signifies a greater fortune.

And maybe you will also receive good luck after seeing this snapshot!

たたこう館で研修生（二年生）の稽古でした。

午前中は「千里馬」講師は齋齊藤栄一。中太鼓の横にあるのはバナナおぢさん作の（神様）かな？
午後は「三宅」講師は見留知弘。顔はニコニコしてますが、稽古内容はキツイ！

しんちゃんせんせいも1分ほど体験。すぐにリタイヤしました。

The new 2nd year apprentices were practicing at Sado Island Taiko Centre.

In the morning, Eiichi Saito taught "Chonlima." Near the chu-daiko (middle sized taiko in row two), was there a man made by aka Banana Odjisan!?

In the afternoon, Tomohiro Mitome taught "Miyake." You may think they look happy, but his practice is very severe!

I tried to join this practice, but I lasted only one minute. I was knocked out in a flash.

次回は藤本吉利です。

Eiichi had a taiko workshop for local kids taiko team called "Misaki-gumi." Next time, Yoshikazu will have a turn.

そして、岬組のWSと同じ時間に2階で刺し子のWSが。
講師は大井キヨ子です。

At the same time, Kiyoko was teaching "Sashiko," Japanese embroidery quilting for mothers of those kids.

ご無沙汰しております。僕は「One Earth Tour」より一足先に欧州に乗り込んでおります！
ブリュッセルにて、振付家、ダンサーのラルビ・シャルカウイさんの演出作品に関わっております！

そう！これって単身赴任です！ ちょっと、いや！結構寂しいけど頑張ってます。

ブリュッセルにてアパート暮らし。でも大丈夫、日本の心は忘れません！醤油もわさびも買いました！ご飯も買いました！今日も帰り道は長唄を聴きながら帰ってきました！
でも、昨日ベルギーワッフル食べちゃった。土曜日ですもん！うまかった〜！！

Hello! It's Shogo! Long time, no see! I am now in Europe, one step ahead of the Europe OET Tour members. I am now in Brussels, working on a new piece of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, who is a dancer and choreographer.

Yes, I am here just by myself. I am a little..., I mean very lonely, but working really hard with this project!

I am staying in an apartment in Brussels, but do not worry that I might not forget my Japanese soul! I've got soy sauce and a wasabi. I bought rice, too. On the way back to the apartment from shopping, I listened to "Nagauta," a Japanese classical song! Well, I also ate waffles yesterday because it was Saturday! Yummy~!!

These pictures are taken in front of my apartment, inside the apartment and at the rehearsal studio.

2009年7月14日、スイス・チューリッヒで行われた「Live at Sunset」に鼓童が出演しておりました。

そのフェスティバルの公式紹介映像に、鼓童の演奏が入っています。雷鳴との共演ですね。現場では本番中に「雷雲が近づいてきています」という連絡が無線を通じてスタッフに流れて緊張が漂いましたが、こうしてみると格好良いですね〜。

Kodo had a performance at Live at Sunset in Zurich, Switzerland on July 14, 2009.

Our show is featured in the official 2009 footage. It's a collaboration with a storm. At the show, I got the news via walkie talkie that the thunder and lightning were approaching and all if us staff with nervous. Looking back on it through this footage it looks cool, huh?
